Social Information Dissemination

I’m an information/knowledge manager nerd from way back. So I get excited about things like “information dissemination” and best use of tools to share knowledge, raise awareness and get people on a conversation about a subject. Its true!! I love it.

So you can imagine my delight when I got talking at a function last night and was able to delve into the subject in the social media/networking arena and explain a simple use for twitter is to update your blog. And then the even easier scenario is to update your twitter using your facebook. wOw.

So the penny dropped – “I can use my facebook to update my twitter AND my blog?”. “yes” was my reply.

Of course, there are some compromises and issues surrounding the basics of any ability BUT get the basics right and you are on the initial journey for the conversation to begin!!

And – why not start the conversation from your own blog? Its all quite circular really 🙂

Isnt it great when you are able to be present with people when they have the eureka moment? At times there has been some bad press in the media about these social networking sites, and people are always afraid of the unknown. Accepting change and taking advantage of it are two seperate things….

Hopefully the person you spoke to has got on board with social media and is actively promoting themselves, their brand and their ideas through the various social media platforms out there.
